Community Outreach

The GCCAC participates in numerous awareness events to help educate the community about child abuse and neglect and how to prevent it.

Speakers from the GCCAC are available to talk to groups about the scourge of abuse in our community. We partner with community organizations and school districts to offer various training for parents, teachers, and children. The better information a community has about child abuse, the better equipped it is to fight abuse. See the brochure below for more information.

Our prevention efforts include teaching a personal empowerment safety program to children. The program is called radKIDS and covers prevention of sexual abuse, abduction, and bullying, as well as physical resistance to violence. The radKIDS program also teaches about safety with regard to fire, water, bike, vehicles, phone, internet, guns, etc. We teach the program during the school year in PE classes, but also host summer programs at our center. If you are interested in learning more about the radKIDS program, please visit their website http://radkids.org or contact Christine Jaecks.
